〈BEAMS PLUS〉が設立25周年の集大成に選んだのは、
ブランドのルーツであるアメリカでした。
昨年11月中旬から約1ヶ月半にわたり開催された
「BEAMS PLUS LIMITED STORE in Los Angeles」。
米国初の単独上陸で追求したのは、長年培ってきた
オーセンティシティとコミュニティの表現。
そんな忘れられないひと時をフォトレポートと共に、
包み隠さずプレイバックします!

To mark its 25th anniversary, BEAMS PLUS chose the United States,
the birthplace of the brand.
“BEAMS PLUS LIMITED STORE in Los Angeles”
was held for about a month and a half from mid-November last year.
What we pursued in our first solo landing in the U.S. was expressing
the authenticity and community that we have cultivated over the years.
Here's an unfiltered playback of that unforgettable time,
along with a photo report!

( BEAMS PLUS in Los Angeles )

The setting is the Arts District of Los Angeles, which has developed
from a quiet warehouse district on the West Coast
into a center of contemporary culture. With its solid exterior,
grassy facade, and wood ceiling, this space,
where sophistication and warmth coexist, could not be a better place
to express the world view of “BEAMS PLUS”.
The first half of the exhibition focused on four main themes:
American traditional, work, sports, and military, presenting casual wear
that reflects the universal beauty and timelessness of the times
and that should be passed down to the next generation.
In the second half of the exhibition, the autumn/winter 2024 collection
was delivered, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the original fabrics
that are synonymous with “BEAMS PLUS”. It was impressive to see
West Coast connoisseurs admiring the Japanese craftsmanship exuding
from the fabrics, from the dirt expressed in the prints to the twice-dyed indigo.

( Sperry TOP-SIDER × BEAMS PLUS )

In opening a store in the U.S., it was significant to work with
“Sperry TOP-SIDER,” a 40's US icon.
The base model used was a 40's
military model. The characteristic rubber outsole and texture are retained,
but modernized with thicker side tapes, etc.
The insole is printed with a motif of a military contractor's hand stamp.
This time, the long-awaited new color, Ivory/Black, is released,
displaying advertisements
from the period in line with the box concept of
“dead stock found in a warehouse”.

( FOUND OBJECTS × BEAMS PLUS )

“FOUND OBJECTS” is an enigmatic entity that offers a new perspective.
It took no time at all for these two companies,
which combine respect for the good old days with a modern interpretation,
to join forces.
For this collaboration, we have upcycled vintage bell bags
that were originally produced to carry tools and equipment on the job site.
The finest madras goat skin leather backing contrasts with the unique old color
of decades of wear,
and a special logo charm symbolizes the collaboration.
It is a gem that will last for generations to come, beyond description.

( OPENING PARTY SNAP! )

A party was held on the eve of the opening. Many people came to celebrate
the opening,
and guests mingled with each other as
they listened to the enchanting jazz sounds of The Don Brown Collective,
whose members change from show to show. The mixing of the Japanese
and U.S. communities made for a special time of sharing.

( LOOK BACK! 25th anniv. )

The world tour began with a single poster submitted internally
the year before last.
The opening of the LIMITED STORE in Los Angeles,
a place we have longed to visit, was an irreplaceable milestone for us
and a new start.
It was a great confidence boost for us to have
our sophisticated world view and attention to detail
and materials born of Japanese craftsmanship accepted in the home of
American casual wear.
It was a great harvest for us to be able to expand
our “community,” one of our keywords, and to experience America today.
The tour has just begun. There are still many cities we would like to visit.
We hope you will continue to look forward to BEAMS PLUS creations,
which are born from the fusion of our craftsmanship and local talent.
